Well, it is the New Year, 2010!!
Here is the picture of the snuggie I made for Keith.
I still haven't made mine yet. There is a pocket in the front (about stomach area) and there is one underneath at the bottom for your feet!! How cool is that!?
The New Year is starting of well. I got my hair colored and got another hole pierced into my ear. That makes 3 in each ear. I got the latest one done so that the long dangling earrings will fit and "fall" better. The other hole was too high up on the ear. We'll see if it works!
Keith and I brought in the New Year at a comedy club again. That makes it the 3rd year in a row. The feature and headliners were both really good. Enjoyed myself the most this year. Laughed a lot and some really good deep belly laughs in there too!
I hope everyone is having a good start to their year!

Sewing Machine
Just got my new sewing machine yesterday. I'm really excited! I got a Singer Confidence 7467. Looking forward to my first project. Which is to make Keith and I our own Snuggies! :D Should be just as easy as my robe was. Next, I am thinking of making a tote. We'll see. I'll post some pictures soon...I hope. lol

Feeling good right about now! I have gotten a few things done around the house. Yippie!! Went shopping for some organizing equipment. Reorganized the bathroom "cabinet". It looks a lot better! Added a few corner trays by the sink and in the shower to hold accessories. Whoop! Whoop! Did a few loads of dishes! Mostly moved and organized my desk area into "My" room. The room is my oasis. It is where all my crafts, sewing, and desk are. In the process of getting that cleaned up and organized. Also did some more transferring/ripping of music/cd's onto my laptop. So much done and a lot more to go! hahahahhaa Seems never ending, but taking one task at a time. I hope to one day have the house "guest ready" at all times. :D That will be a project.
Wish me Luck!!!

Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving was a good time again this year! Martin's kids are getting big and growing into their own little person. Each still different as night and day. Fun to watch them interact with each other and others. Had an interesting experience with the turkey. It was a fresh free range turkey. Didn't have a lot of fat on it. Was moist, but not very flavorful. Even with a herb butter rub and baste! Oh well...
Had my first sewing class today at JoAnn's. I want to get back into sewing and want to grow my skills. I am preparing myself for when the kids get here and when I will be sewing who knows what. I am also getting a new sewing machine for Christmas. Yippie!! I made a fleece robe in one of my fave colors, purple!! It turned out pretty good for my first project after so long. I now have a robe that actually fits me and doesn't dwarf my arms!! lol Only took about 6.5 hrs. to make. Not bad. In two weeks I start my second class, making a fleece vest! :D

Turkey
I roasted a turkey with the works on Tuesday. I don't know why. I guess it's having "leftovers" early. Since I won't have leftovers after T-day because I will be at Martin's. I know, I can be nuts. Can't help it. I was in the mood for turkey! :)
Now I'm trying to figure out what dessert to bring with me. Brownies, pumpkin bars, or baklava. Gonna make them in the next few days to "test" them out.
Excited New Moon is finally out. Can't wait to see it! Waiting on Ninja Assassin also. Looks like a good movie too.
Hugs,

Update
Ok, it's about time I did another update. Doesn't seem like much has changed but there is one big thing.
I am UNEMPLOYED!! This is a good thing. It was also expected. My job at the Demiliterization Plant was always a temporary one. Just lasted longer than most people expected (except the workers :) ). I was at the job for just over 6.5 years. My last day was Sept. 24, 2009. I started on Jan. 15, 2004. I am happy this phase of my life is over. I was looking forward to the end of the project to start my next phase.
Keeping to his (Keith) promise, I am now a housewife. I do not have to get another job unless I want to. Woo!! I've been loving it! Enjoy getting all the sleep I want/need. Now, I just have to work on setting up a schedule for myself. hahaha Some sort of structure or routine so that I can actually get some stuff done around the house. hehe If I don't, I'll sleep forever and start losing my days. This has actually happened a couple of times already. haha Some of you know that I can sleep "forever". Meaning anywhere from 12-20 hrs. straight. Sleeping that long is not uncommon for me.
I have switched to "nights". My body automatically switches over. Always have been a night person. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am sooooo not a morning person. :D When I tried to switch back to days, I got all screwed up and actually ended back on nights. Sigh....
Looking forward to the Thanksgiving Holiday and seeing the family at Martin's (the bro's) house. I hope you all have a great Holiday!

Parent's Visit
Had a nice visit with the folks. They arrived on Tues. night and I cooked dinner. It was really good. I made:
Salmon
Roasted potatoes
Squash medley
Asparagus
Rolls
and for desert, we had Trifle. Mom prepped the berries while I made the pudding. Didn't have time to put it in the bowl, so we assembled it seperately in our own individual bowls. Still turned out really good. :D
Wed. the parents and I went to the Native American Museum in Indianapolis. They have been wanting to visit it for quite a while. The art and artifacts were really nice. Most came from private collections.
For dinner, we went to Umi. Mom really likes sushi and Dad doesn't mind it. Made Keith go because there is more than sushi at the restaurant. Ends up that Keith really liked most of the stuff that I ordered. That is all we had was appetizers and sushi. :D Parent's really liked it. It was a b-day treat for the both of them.
Came back and watched Monsters Inc. Parent's hadn't watched it yet. One of our kitties is named after the little girl in the movie. Can you figure out what it is?? :)
Good visit overall. Quick but nice. Great excuse to get the house cleaned up. I am a lot happier right now. Such a great feeling walking into a clean house!
